Concerns about climate change and green house gas (GHG) pollution coupled with the economy’s dependence on petroleum and coal are creating both risks and opportunities for companies and organizations worldwide. International, regional and State-based regulated and voluntary carbon markets are now well established with many large players. Mission Markets will focus primarily on the “Impact Carbon” or credits derived from carbon projects that have added benefits for the environment and communities with special emphasis on voluntary markets.
Projects and credits can be developed in the areas of sustainable forest management, REDD, avoided habitat conversion, reforestation, soil carbon sequestration, agricultural methane, and organic waste digestion.
Mission Markets supports project financing for the voluntary and regulated markets that meet or exceed the following standards:
